We believe that “The Lord is…not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9).
We believe that “Whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
Yet we know that there are 6500 people groups in the world today that are perishing, because they have yet to hear of the Gospel. And 2500 of those people groups possess unique languages and cultures that effectively provide barriers to their understanding of the Gospel as it might be presented today.
And so we ask, “How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent?” (Romans 10:14-15)
Therefore, our vision, is not so much ours, as it is His – to see the unreached hear of Him, to see the unreached believe in Him, to see the unreached call on Him, and to see the unreached preach Him.
To that end, we are here in Mexico, learning the language and culture of the Nahuatl people, not only out of necessity to be able to communicate with them, but because we want to share the living truth of the gospel with them in a way that they truly understand. We want them to come to know the one true God, intimately, and walk with Him. We would like to see them living in victory over sin, and with true joy rather than in deception and fear. We love them, because Christ loves them, and loves us.
And as long as it takes, as long as God wants us here living among the Nahuatl, here is where we will stay.
