LOS HYPKI

Church Planting among the Nahuatl

Family Time

As soon as we got caught up with unpacking, cleaning, and settling into our summer home here in Baraboo, WI we packed our bags again for a 6 day family get-away with the Hypkis to Sister Bay and the Door County area.

Door County is a beautiful area…personally, I think it carries the flavor of the east coast in the midwest. For those of you who don’t know, Door County is located at the top of the finger-like penninsula off the east side of Wisconsin. Green Bay is on one side of the pennisula and Lake Michigan is on the other. Because of the lakes the weather often tends to be cooler, which was definitely the case during our visit, but we made the most of every moment of sunshine.

Door County has many attractions, it’s delicious restaurants, unique stores and galleries for shopping, quaint villas and cottages, parks, beaches, and some nice places to sit and watch the sunset over the water.

Our days were full of activities of hiking and bike riding in Penninsula State Park, exploring new trails and beaches, shopping, looking at art and pottery, visiting coffee shops, bakeries, restaurants, and cafes, playing games, eating, reading, and relaxing. It was a great time to let our minds and bodies rest from the business of our everyday routine. Lots of memories were made, as it will be our last family vacation with the Hypkis for some time, since we will be moving to Mexico very soon. Below are some pictures to capture some of the experience for you.

Those are just a few shots, we really had a wonderful time and want to thank our parents and in-laws, Mary and Paul for taking us along, it was fabulous!

Now, laundry is done, cleaning is done, and we pack up again tomorrow for a week up at Lake Lundgren Bible Camp! We are really excited to have the opportunity to talk about missions for a half hour each morning to a group of 9th-12th graders. In the afternoons will have the time to hang out with the campers, get to know them on a personal level, interact with the staff, and enjoy the camp…and it looks like we are going to have great weather too!

We would appreciate your prayers as we are trusting God to use us in whatever way He chooses to impact the lives for these campers! An update on camp when we return!!
