My Best Friend and a Latte

We went on a date!

It has been awhile…sad to say, but often we have date nights in watching a $1 movie rental, cooking together, or working on a project that has been put off to the side because one or the both of us has been too busy to complete it. We even have had dates in the weight room working out together, this is actually one of our favorites!

But last night, we decided to go out and get coffee! Neither of us brought books to read, or paperwork to work on, or homework, we just talked, and laughed and it was so much fun! Pete truly is my best friend, and every moment we spend together just gets better…mushy I know…I apologize.

Kathy, one of our dear friends, sent us a Starbucks card for a little early Easter gift! So I sipped a nonfat vanilla latte, while Pete enjoyed a nonfat mocha and the Strawberry Rubarb Crumble he was eyeing up in the pastry case the entire time we were ordering. 🙂

After Starbucks we decided to peruse Target, see if they had any deals….and yes, victory, Kashi granola bars and cereal were on sale!! How exciting! Then we walked over to the Hyvee grocery store, (this place has a couple steps up on Wal-Mart) and ventured into their health foods section. I always like to check out which products are new, and get ideas for using different grains, beans, and other ingredients. We decided to try some Ezekiel brand whole grain tortillas, and called it a night.

On the way home we had one more stop to make. We had seen this sign coming into town on the billboard of a Yamaha boat and other watercraft sales place and had to stop and take a picture for you guys to enjoy and laugh at too. So, that was our Wednesday date night, and I hope you have all had a wonderful Thursday!
